Finally... Something new

After quite a long hiatus for a multitude of reasons, I snatched myself a newborn! Ok, I didn't really snatch her. I borrowed her for a couple of hours. Meet Miss J, my cousin's daughter. So much sweetness in such a tiny girl. One week old today.

Sneaky Sneakerson

Just a couple of more sneak peeks for my friend Dina at There's No Place Like Home. She is being super patient with me taking some time getting the final edits to her. We had 2 very unexpected deaths of people close to us this week. It's been a rough week to say the least.

Is she a beauty or what? Seriously, I mean I like to think I know a thing or two about pretty babies and this is one for sure. I am working my way through the rest of her photos slowly but surely.

And for me, kiss your hubby and kids a few extra times tonight. I am off to do just that.

Ok, not literally. She was actually a complete sweetie pie and I had fun photographing her. She just wasn't sleepy in the least.

This is Katie Belle. Don't you just love that name? She's the daughter of Marcus and Dina from There's No Place Like Home. I was lucky enough to get to go and meet Dina and her little beauty (and see her awesome house) last week. Her house is more put together than mine and I've lived here like 6 years. She moved in like a week ago. Not to mention just had a baby. I kind of wish she'd adopt me.

Anyway, it was my first newborn shoot and I was crazy nervous. I'm so lucky to have had such an awesome experience and great people to have as clients. The only thing that would have made it better (besides being asked to move in...kidding, kidding...) is if that sweet baby would have considered taking a cat nap! Silly girl. She was totally playing the diva card.

My photography business has been on hold the past few months. Sickness, holidays, life. I hope to get back into the swing of things now that spring is approaching. I've had some renewed interest from past and (hopefully) future clients.

I did manage to sneak in an impromptu photo shoot of my daughter to celebrate her first birthday... a couple of months late. But, who's counting?

A Day at the Park

This beauty is the daughter of a real life friend. Oh my goodness, this girl is gorgeous. And funny. She seriously made me laugh a few times that day. Sofia went with me and was my assistant. I think it was more of a playdate. Can't wait to photograph her again!

This session was really fun because it was a family. Except for the heat, it was a pretty perfect day. I used to work with her and I can honestly say she was part of my comic relief during a work day. It was nice to hang out with her again with her family. And those boys of hers... they have some eyes on them! Girls are gonna be in trouble when they bat those eyes!

I finally had a boy! Ok, so I didn't have a boy, as in birth one, but I finally got a baby boy to photograph! The next best thing. And this boy was a looker. Man, those big brown eyes! And that smile. This kid will be able to write his own ticket. He was sweet and so easy to photograph. I adore the smiles we got.

Blue Eyed Girl

Seriously, this beautiful young woman had the bluest eyes I have ever seen. Talk about a dream for a photographer! She is naturally gorgeous. I hope to photograph her again. Ourdoors. When it's much cooler. Can you imagine those icey blue eyes in a fall/winter setting? I can picture it now. And it's lovely!

Little Miss H

These are some of my favorites from my most recent session with little Miss H. I had so much fun with this one. She definitely kept me on my toes. She was just learning to walk, so sitting still was certainly not fun for her. She was the sweetest little girl who adored her mom and smiled the sweetest smile at Sofia who ended up being my assistant for the day.

My Sister... Who I forced to volunteer

Well, not really. She was ready to be a volunteer... once I "suggested" it. Again, kidding. It was actually nice to work with someone who didn't jump up and run away the second you get them seated. I think she may actually want to sit for me again.

Welcome to my new photography blog! Hope you stop by from time to time and let me know what you think. My dream is to someday be good enough so that someone asks me either where I had them taken or if I will take some photographs for them. Surprisingly, I've already been asked a few times if I'm a "professional" photographer! Not even close.
